Trying to get back into the swing of things, train for a big race, or get a new PR this cross country season? Injuries got you sidetracked? We've got just the thing!

Every Wednesday from September 13 through October 11, 2017, we will be hosting a FREE injury clinic for you at Runners Athletic Co. in Saginaw! Stop in any time from 6-7pm on these Wednesdays and receive FREE advice from the great sports medicine professionals in our area. 

These clinics are free of charge and are a great resource for anyone who is fighting injuries that are preventing or inhibiting activity and exercise. Take advantage of these awesome resources and learn how to stay healthy, happy, and fit!

 

Wednesday, September 27: Kent Timm, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, SCS, ATC, FACSM, of Renue Physical Therapy

Kent has a PhD in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Muscle Physiology, from Columbia University, and is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), with concentrations in Manual Therapy and in Medical Exercise Therapy. He is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He is a Registered International Sports Physical Therapist (RISPT) and also Board Certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). In addition, Kent is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  

Kent oversees the Renue Physical Therapy activities in the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) National Medical Network and served on the USOC Medical Staff for the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia, the 2000 Olympic Summer Games in Sydney, Australia, and the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently a member of the Sports Medicine Division for the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and has experience with both the Men’s and Women’s National and World Cup Teams.

Kent’s previous roles include Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL), Team Physical Therapist for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL), and Faculty at the University of Michigan and the University of Indianapolis. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals and professional research presentations in the United States, Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and South America on the aspects of musculoskeletal problems, functional testing, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, spinal rehabilitation, and sport injuries.
