Wednesday, October 4: Mel Svorinic PT, DPT,OMPT, and Manuel Gepilano, Jr. PT, CMP, Cert. MDT, of Renue Physical Therapy
Mel graduated from the University of Kwazulu-Natal (formerly the University of Durban-Westville) in Durban, South Africa in 1993. He has been practicing in the United States since 1994, gaining considerable experience working with a variety of patient conditions in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Mel also has experience in a hospital setting with in-patients and nursing home residents. Mel completed a 2 year Orthopedic Manual Therapy Certi cation (OMPT) through Oakland University in May, 2011. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Oakland University and graduated in August of 2015.
Manuel attended the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines where he graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Physical Therapy. He is a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP), which is the concept of mobilization with movement in extremities and Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glides (SNAGS) in the spine. Manuel is also a Certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Cert. MDT), which is the McKenzie Method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine.
Manuel has over 20 years of clinical experience. Prior to joining Renue, he worked in hospital inpatient, outpatient, and private practice clinical settings with extensive experience in orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric, and sports rehabilitation. Other special interests include Manual Therapy of the spine, extremities, and TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorders).
